Groenekan - Ryanair Ltd. and MPS have entered into definitive agreements for the delivery of 3 (three) MPS B737-NG FTD1 Fixed Base Simulators to Ryanair. In addition, parties have agreed on the option to deliver a substantial number of simulators over the next 10 (ten) years as part of Ryanair's overall pilot training program.
The first device will be delivered in December of this year, to be installed in Dublin. The remaining two simulators will enter service early next year located at Ryanair’s facility at East Midlands Airport. Part of the agreement is an option to supply B737-MAX devices or to convert the installed simulators into B737-MAX configuration.
In addition to the simulators, Ryanair and MPS will cooperate in the development and implementation of new and unique training solutions, which can ultimately become available to other MPS users.
Ryanair Chief Operations Officer Mick Hickey“Our investment in the MPS B737-NG FTD marks the beginning of a new era in our use of fixed base simulator technology. The MPS product now defines the standard for build quality and fidelity for FTD’s and Ryanair anticipates that the MPS device will provide greater opportunities for Ryanair’s pilots to practice their manual handling skills in a relaxed training environment. These MPS simulator’s will be used in a variety of training and operational roles all designed to build on the industry leading safety standards which are the hallmark of the Ryanair operation.”.
MPS’ President and founder Dick Verburg: “We are extremely happy to partner with Ryanair, an airline with an outstanding safety record. We are pleased that a major airline like Ryanair is recognizing the value of the MPS simulators and the contribution these devices can make to the provision of the highest levels of training with the cost effective yet high quality simulators from MPS.”
